HIGHLIGHTS
1985 Land Rover Defender 90
- The odometer currently reads less than 4,500 miles, which we believe to be the miles since the rebuild.
- This is a 6-passenger, 3.5L V8 gasoline engine with a 5-speed manual transmission.
- This vehicle was Reconstructed by Arkonik, a well-known team that customizes Land Rover Defenders, to last for decades to come. Everything was stripped down to the bare frame, and built back up with upgraded materials and ingenious design.
- Reconstruction process was completed in May of 2015 and is documented with many photos.
- After stripping the vehicle to its frame, the framing itself is Etch - Primed and Raptor coated for strength and longevity.
- The Mechanical Team then starts with assembling all the drivetrain components. The extensively rebuilt, raptor-coated, axles are coupled to the frame, then a brand-new suspension system, all steering components, complete fuel system, brakes, bulkhead, A, B, and C Pillars, side seals and rear body tub are all fitted. The completely refurbished transmission, transfer box, and engine are then placed back into the frame.
- The Arkonik "leave no stone unturned" attitude to their projects could not be more evident than when it comes to the vehicle's five-speed, manual transmissions and transfer boxes. Nothing is retained except the outer casings and housings. Brand new British-made gear box internals and upgraded clutch were fitted.
- The original paneling is sanded back to bare metal, then meticulously prepared, primed, baked, and inspected before painting. This whole process is repeated for each and every coat. The Arkonik team greatly improve upon the Defender's original corrosion protection and water ingress.
- All this in-depth reconstruction is paired with a KBX Hi-Force Wing Top Air Intake, KBX Front Grille & Lamp Surround Upgrade Kit, Front Runner Roof Rack with LED Light Bar, Busbar with LED Light Bar, Lockbox in the Front Row, Heated Front Seats, and an Alpine CD player.
- In summary, this is a vehicle that has the stunning and classic looks of an 80s Land Rover Defender combined with the top tier craftsmanship and build quality of the Arkonik team.
- The prior owner upgraded the fuel delivery system to the “Atomic” Electronic Fuel Injection.
